Wildlife Photography
September 29, 2026
the small woodland creature, Joy,
scuttles away from my chest,
burrowing deeper down in my torso.
moments ago, i was over-Joyed,
and now, i am missing her.
Joy is shy,
for me;
she mostly wishes to remain undocumented.
not necessarily unnoticed,
but perceived mostly in person,
by people.
alone in my bed,
she will only allow me to capture
the heat signature of her path.
i’ll respect it.
i’ll get her,
one day.
