Strong People

I guess this is what strong people do.

We lay,
breathing deeply,
hands clutched to chests,
while the urge to snuff the flame
slowly digests.

It’s ugly,
it’s slow,
and it feels unholy,

But if fires forge us,
Let strong people be lonely.
