Revisiting!

As we certainly know by now,
Writing my poems
And sharing my poems
Are entirely different beasts!

Watching the count next to the “Poetry” folder increase
Left me with an eerie sense of
Who does she think she is?

Publishing my website, though…
Was like seeing beams of sunlight
Filter down through patchy clouds,
Just after a storm -

Potent enough
To make you think
You might be seeing
Heaven.

mmm

And!

Reading my collection is different still!

Revisiting “endurance”
From the actual place that woman
Hoped to have achieved…

I feel like a mother
Watching her son return from a world war.

He is safe!
Whispered with simultaneous
Relief and
Survivor’s guilt.

How interesting…!
