Keep It Movin'!
May 19, 2026
Take off on the nearest highway,
Find an exit you’ve never seen,
Follow your gut until you find a road you recognize
Make your way home
Later than expected.
It’s okay,
You’re single.
No partner or children,
Just a cat,
Who’s used to your erratic nights.
What are you running from?
Who’s to say,
Really?
The muchness of it all,
I suppose.
It’s hard to separate the feelings
When they come all at once.
Affection, rage, grief,
Pride, fear, knowing,
Smushed into a multi-colored ball of play-doh,
Sitting in my chest and throat.
I could sit and pick the colors apart with care,
Or I could drive
Until they are pressed into
Rainbow spaghetti.
It’s more fun that way.
for the folks who need to know it's ok to not choose the 'right' thing every time
