God Is Good.

I see a family on the internet with a sick boy.
Pray for our son.

I wonder what’s wrong.
I send them light.

Two days pass,
I see the update.

Draws a connection,

“He is so good to me!
I am so grateful!”

In every journal entry, for months,
As I was being eroded away.

That man wasn’t good to me;
I fear your God might be the same.

And I fear…
Discussing Goodness or badness
Flattens the whole thing.

Perhaps your beautiful boy survives and
Lives a long, healthy life.

I hope so,
For your sake.

I also think of how many women lost
So many children

Before the last century
Of modern medicine.

Are we numbing ourselves to the suffering
By believing life,
And God,
Must always be Good?

Suffering exists
Whether we discuss it or not.
